Welcome to Coastal Voices

We are a group of people who meet to have fun and sing close harmony songs from around the world.

We are based in Abergele, North Wales, and meet each Tuesday evening during term time at Abergele Community College. Each session is from 7pm to 9pm.

Whilst the group is very much about having fun singing, we also give occasional performances at charity events and end of term gatherings. Members can choose to perform or not - it’s entirely voluntary.

We welcome singers of every age, sex and nationality – so come and join us!

What happens when we meet

Songs are all taught by ear, so you don’t need any previous singing or musical experience to join.

Every session starts with a warm up. The warm up is a vital part of the preparation for singing. It involves some gentle stretches, with a special focus on posture and on common areas of tension, like neck and shoulders.

Next we move on to breathing, because our breath provides essential support for our voice … and finally a gentle warm up for our voices. Then we sing!

Each term we start some new songs as well as recapping old favourites.

We sing every Summer ....

.... and through the Winter ....

.... and sometimes we go to the pub!
